Healing is really just letting yourself feel. It is unearthing your traumas and embarrassments and losses and allowing yourself the emotions that you could not have in the moment that you were having those experiences.

Therapeutic Approach

Attachment-Focused

One of the deepest impacts of trauma is the feeling of isolation from the people around you. It can be so difficult to trust others after being hurt by people in your life. Trauma therapy is tough work, and it happens best in the context of a safe and supportive relationship between therapist and client. This relationship will be the foundation of our work together as we face the challenge of healing from your most difficult experiences and relationships. Our work will go at your pace, ensuring that you feel safe enough to face the tough stuff, while knowing I am there to support you.

Strengths-Based

Surviving trauma requires an incredible amount of strength. Many people who have experienced trauma have difficulty seeing and acknowledging the strengths that helped them. I believe that everyone is doing the best they can, and I bring this non-judgmental and compassionate perspective into each and every session.

Trauma-Informed

I practice from a trauma-informed lens, always taking into account the impact that trauma can have on a person’s circumstances and their experience as they move through life. I utilize Internal Family Systems therapy, attachment therapy, and EMDR; all are evidence-based practices for the treatment of trauma. I know that every person is different, and my approach with each person is geared toward their specific needs. I strive to be as transparent as possible, so that you will always know what to expect from me. Predictability is key in creating a space that is safe enough to tackle the courageous work of healing.

Anti-Oppressive

I am an LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC ally. Because I am a white, cisgender woman, I actively make an effort to continue my development as an anti-oppressive therapist through listening to folx’s experiences and seeking out continuing education. I welcome the opportunity to work with folx of all identities, and I welcome conversations about how my clients’ identities impact their lives and their work in therapy.
